She has had more than 80 careers in her lifetime, from a Rock Star to a paleontologist, to a Presidential candidate. Finally, I will discuss what the affect she had had on little girls and what is known as Barbie backlash. D. I have been fascinated by the history of Barbie for as long as I can remember. (even having to go through the Pentagon to get approval for the military dolls, so there outfits were the most realistic) 3. She portrays more than 50 different nationalities and cultures. 4. She is sold in over 150 countries around the world. 5. According to barbiemedia.com 90% of girls ages 3 to 10 own a Barbie doll. 6. There are movies, coloring books, and even Halloween costumes that have been made because of Barbie. 7.
